Fines for Failing to Comply

Beginning on July 1st, 2021, when a new or renewed contract is signed on a Cannons Creek rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance tasks must be completed inside of 90 days.

As of 1st July 2021, when a brand new, renewed or varied contract is signed on the Cannons Creek rental property, all Healthy Homes compliance work must be done within 90 days.

The person who is liable for this fine is whoever is named on the tenancy contract as the person who is letting the property and it could be the name of the landlord as well as the company that manages the property.

The information contained in the Statement of Compliance needs to be current at the time that the tenancy agreement is completed, and must be updated throughout the tenancy as any associated work has been completed.

Tenancies commenced in the period between July 1st 2019 and 30 June 2021

  • The insulation of the ceiling and underfloor is compulsory to all Cannons Creek and New Zealand rental homes where it is reasonably practicable to put in.
